What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Colorado.

My boyfriend physically abused me during a fight, and I left, leaving our daughter with him. I wanted her back, so I called the cops to get an escort to the house to go get her. Of course, I had to tell them what happened, so I did, and now I have her (they didn't find him, it turns out he took her to her babysitters house, so I picked her up there). I didn't want to get him in trouble, just wanted my daughter back, so I thought I could call the cop and talk to him and tell him I exaggerated the truth and we were just fighting. That I just wanted my daughter back, and I was angry, and now I have her. Whats your advice? Will I get arrested or just get a ticket?

Why would you not want a man that physically abused you to go to jail?

Also, it is no longer your problem. The state will take it from here.

ARG...

One of two things has happened here. Either he physically abused you and now you are willing to lie and state that he didn't.

Or, he didn't physically abuse you at all and therefore you lied to the cops the first time around.

Either way, you are not a good role model for your daughter.
