Maryland.
My husband has allowed his brothers to use our address
to register and insure their cars. His brothers have had
several accidents which has raised our car insurance. He has cosigned on a school loan, which his brother is not paying.
How can I separate myself from this mess.

My response:

I have no idea what you're asking when you say:

"How can I separate myself from this mess."

Are you looking for a :

1. Divorce ?

2. Legal Separation ?

3. Contractual agreement with your husband ?

4. Financial safeguards, like a "trust" ?

5. Other ?

MARYLAND Contractual agreement and financial safeguards.
I just found that his mother has a checking account in
his name so that welfare will not deduct her check and his
brothers truck is registered in my husbands name. To me this, sounds like trouble. I feel the need to protect myself and my children. Thank you for your advice.

My response:

If you want contractual safeguards, either see a Family Law attorney to put together a "Post-Nuptual" agreement, or see a "Financial Planner". If none of those work, there's always divorce.

Thank you, I will try Post-nuptual First.
