What is the name of your state? new york - my mother passed away in october 2002, my brother had himself named power of attorney while she was ill in september of 2002 and after her death had himself made small estate administrator at the time of my mothers death i was in possession of her 1985 chevy celebrity which my brother had given me the keys for but did not give me the papers to transfer the car to myself until december of 2002 he is now asking for back insurance and registration money to be returned to my mothers estate in addition he allowed my sister to remove jewelry from my mothers home stating that it was for appraisal purposes - he will not give a copy of this to me and stated that he does not have one - was he obligated as small estate administrator to obtain this or at least an inventory of what was removed? in addition, he locked me out of my mothers home, after we had an agreement that i could take my mothers wall unit and now is stating i have one week between the hours of 9am and 5pm to remove this or he will donate it and take the tax deduction - he also had an agreement with our grandmother as there was an account of my mothers that was in trust for my grandmother - he stated that my grandmother told him to give me a check in the amount of the account and she would reimburse him when the in trust for account is settled - he is now deducting that money from me and stating that i owe this money to my mothers estate and he has not contacted my grandmother for this money - is this legal - also, as power of attorney since september 2002 and small estate administrator how far back into my mother finances can he go - i ask this because he is trying to state that a check sent to an attorney for my fiancee, by my mother is a loan - it did not state loan on the check, nor was there any loan agreement and this check was written a year before my mother became ill

You may wish to post this on the wills and probate board on this website.
