i am living in sc now, i left my husband in england taking our 3 children jan 26 2001 prior to leaving over a 1year period he had killed our 2 guinea pigs, a cat and a dog and attempted to kill another dog. i left out of fear for our lives,as he had hit me on occassion during our 12 years of marriage.. i am a us citizen as well as our 3children, my husband is british. in the year he has sent us our things furniture toys etc, and occassionally sends money, nothing steady. when i speak of divorce, he says he will have me on kidnapping and says something about the geneva convention. He has never abused the children.... where do i stand? i want a divorce.

I love it . . . the Geneva Convention !

Unless you and your children are prisoner's war, the "Convention" has nothing to do with divorce. You've been here long enough to satisfy the residency requirements to file for divorce in your own State. See an attorney whenever you'd like.
