Question

family member-lazy or disabled?

What is the name of your state? NJ

MY brother in-law is 36years old and lives with his sister who owns the house. He refuses to work and contribute to living expenses, but has not been determined disabled though we think he may be in some way. I believe he has been"given" everything over many years, and now has become accustomed to a "free lunch", and threatens violence to others or to himself if he is pressed to go to work and contribute.

As he has been becoming a burden to her and the family, is there any legal remedy to have him evaluated for disability or have him forcefully removed from the house?

thanks
Joe/NJ

is he a veteran of any sort?? if so the VA hospital should help you... if not try taking him down to the local salvation army, they can maybe put him up, and then when that becomes his new HOME, you can talk to people about indengent care if he has no insurance to help you with dr evaluations************** not sure he would be classified as indengent if he's living with a supporting family.... or you can call social security administration or SSI and see what options you have with them.... (he has to have some work history I think to qualify not sure though).....
