Gaining possession of merchandiseWhat is the name of your state? Virginia About 6 months ago, I cosigned on a car loan for my son (age 21); the car is titled in his name. He made the first two payments, then quit his job and hasn't paid since. I have had to make the last three payments so my credit doesn't get messed up. He has run off with the car and I am stuck with the payments ($246 per month for 4 1/2 years) and no car to show for it. How do I go about getting the car so I can sell it? |

| AS the vehicle is titled ONLY in his name, you can bring a small claims action against him for what he owes you, but technically, he will need to voluntarily sign the car over to you. As his dad, you likely have the personal clout to "convince" him that is the appropriate thing to do. If I'm wrong, hopefully someone will correct me. Taking advantage of one's dad like that is really low in my book- sorry. Good luck.
