Get out of mortgage agreementWhat is the name of your state? VA. I bought a house with my partner and want to see about getting out of it. What can I do? Can she buy me out? If she can't, do we have to put the house up for sale? If I just "leave" what can she do to me? What am I required to do legally? Thanks for any advice. MeOhMy4 |

She can not pay the mortgage and ruin your credit. She doesn't have to refinance leaving you on the mortgage note. You are required to do nothing but realize there are consequences as the bank will hold you liable for the mortgage as long as you are on it. You could file a partition suit but that will NOT be over quickly and will cost you thousands of dollars most likely
