Getting Boat out of my name

I have a boat in my name only. My ex boyfriend has been paying for it the past 2 years. I never wanted the boat in my name in the first place. I have told him since the beginning that I wanted it out of my name. In the beginning of the summer and in the beginning of August that he had until the 31st of Aug. to refinance it or sell it. He has not done either. I want to sell the boat for the amount that we owe to the finance company. He is threatening to sue me if I sell it for the amount that he has put on it and to give him one more year to fix his credit. If I am only selling if for the amount that we owe plus the finance charges that would accrue until we sell the boat and he sues me will he have a case?

Why did you intentionally delete your state?

Sorry. I never did a thread before so it is a bit confusing. I didn't intentionally delete my state. It never asked for it. I live in New Jersey.
