girlfriendNorth Carolina - My husband has been having a girlfriend for 7 years and we have not had marital relations in years. He now wants a separation and to possibly move in with her. What recourse do I have? |

| Okay, he's had a girlfriend for 7 years, while you still married although you haven't done anything normal married couples do. And now he wants a seperation and to move in with her. I'd say let him do that and get a divorce, seeing as how you two don't seem to want to be married anymore. Although I'm finding it hard to believe you let this go on for 7 years without getting a divorce. |

There isn't a law that forces a person to stay with someone. It looks like he has moved on along time ago----except that he still lived with you. http://www.divorcesource.com/info/divorcelaws/northcarolina.shtml |

| I don't really think you can sue anyone for adultry. But my question is even if you could, why didn't you do something about it 7 years ago? |

North Carolina has a statute still on the books--Alienation of Affection. However, it looks at these on a case-to-case basis. It doesn't look good for you, (IMO), because your husband alienated you seven years ago. I am not a lawyer. ********************************************************** |
