Guardianship What is the name of your state? Nevada
My mother lives in Nevada and she can no longer take care of hereself or her affairs. She has a form of dementia. However, she thinks she can deal with her life. Her doctor has given my sister a letter that states she can not take care of herself and needs help.
I am not a resident of Nevada, but my sister is. My sister is seeking to get guardianship over my mother's affairs. She told me that in order to do this Nevada law requires that the relative seeking to get guardianship be a resident of the state.
Is this true? Can we both be guardians over my mother even though I am a resident of another state?
Thanks for any any advice.
