help


What is the name of your state? indiana my brother got killed in acc. i mo. ago. he has got 1 child out of wed lock, her mother took over running estate, can we{brothers,sister} stop her and do it. my brother did not want her to get anything,the mother that is. i raised him from the time he was 12 {his sister}. patty jones

When a man passes away without a will, his belongings go to his wife & children. Since his child is his only heir, everything will go to the child. If the child is a minor, somebody has to handle the assets for the child. The child's closest living relative now is his mother. That is probably why she is in charge of your brother's belongings & assets.

I honestly don't know what you can do about it. You definitely need a lawyer to fight this.

I'm not trying to be rude, but this is a prime example of why everyone with children should have a will.
