houseWhat is the name of your state? virginia i am divorced and was told that to get my name off of my x's mortgage all i need to do is have a quitclaim deed filled out and notarized. is this true? |

| Nope. That will get you off the title. To get off the mortgage, your ex needs to refinance the loan in his/her name only. |

| True. He either needs to refinance or the place is sold. Other then that, your mtg. company does NOT care what your court order with him is. They only care about the papers you signed with them, and are not bound by what your court papers say...via, quit claim. Have him refinance or sell the place. Quit claim is crap. KAT |

| Actually, you may have to fill out a quit claim deed so he can refinance the house in his name only. If the mortgage is in his name only, you will have to fill out a quit claim deed to remove yourself from the title. I hope your divorce papers discuss how much time he has, after you fill out a quit claim deed, to get the house refinanced.
