how di i get my foster care recoreds?

iam in california.
i was in foster care in the 1970's iam now at 42.i would like to see the files as to why i was in foster care placed by whom? and anything else that may be on file. who do i contact for those records? i no my birth parents. i just need to feel in the blanks

Start with the county govt center for the county you lived in as a minor when you were placed into the system. That county social services dept would be the place to start.
