Human Services are way out of line here!...

What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Arkansas

WOW, I am so glad I found this place... I will try to be brief.

About four months ago, our 14 year old child was diagnosed with bells palsy. The first doctor we took her to said that it happens and it should go away, it could take at least six months or may never go away. He said that there is nothing you can do about it and that he could prescribe a steroid but that would probably not help. So, we don't worry too much about it.

A few weeks later, my mother in law tells us that she had it when she was younger and that steroids helped. So, we take her back to the doctor's office. This time, she sees the regular doctor. He prescribes the steroids and says "If it will make you happy, I can make her an appointment for a urologist". We say okay. Will the medicine works very well and we decide not to take her to the urologist.

About a month later, my wife had lost her job and we no longer had insurance so we take her to a health clinic for something else. This nurse practitioner find out that we had not gone to the urologist and say nothing. The next day, Human Recourses are at our door. We cooperate fully with them, tell them what the REAL doctors said. Thought everything was fine, then they call and said that the doctors now want to brain scans and what have you. We contact the doctor and he said that Human Services made them do it. We say fine and go through with it.

The brain scan comes back negative but we are still waiting on the urologist appointment thinking that everyone is happy. NOT!

We get a certified letter today saying that my wife's name has been put into Arkansas's Child Maltreatment Central Registry! Which means she been made guilty by a 20 year old case worker. No hearing, no nothing! My wife cannot get a job anywhere that has anything to do with children! We can and will have a hearing to clear this up but was told it will take three to four months. I want all the facts on my rights and everything before we go in there.

My question is "Does the parent not have the right to refuse medical treatment for their child?" If the doctors had said that this was critical, we would have taken her...

Their whole case is based on us not following up on a visit. Nothing else!

What can we do???

Thank you for your time!

They are out of control in EVERY state. Hey, I bet this changed your views about *so called* child abusers right? Before this b.s. happened to us, I used to think...my gosh we have to get all these monsters off the streets. These days, I'm like...yeah, right, sure they did, sure they did!!! *LOL*

It will take a few months to get the hearing but listen to me here. All this crapola means is that your wife is on their little list. It's just about meaningless unless she wants to work with children. It doesn't go anywhere else but their office and is distributed out only to inquiring state government types. No website, no nothing. Your neighbors aren't going to know unless you tell them. I told mine. I have nothing to hide. And as the saying goes "Silence won't save you now". If you are as mad as I am, yell it from the tree tops and make everyone you know aware that each and every single one of them is but one false abuse alligation away from having their lives destroyed. It's the only way to stop these people unless we can use clubs or 9mm glocks.

Make sure you get a copy of the childs medical records. I'd ask the doctor to write a letter as well (note, they have the same fear about CPS, HS or whatever is called in your state). Then I"d take the records to another doctor for his review....probably will cost you for his/her time, but hey, worth it. It's stupid Bell's Palsy for crying out loud, it's really very common.

Now, VERY important. You need to send a certified letter return reciept to the HS witch. Request a copy your entire file, including all forms, handwritten notes and dummy copies. Give her days to respond. Also enclose a request for a copy of their Proceedures Manual (probably faster to try and look it up on line, might be there)....you'll want to review it, it's for your general information and it scares them (you are asserting your rights...makes them shiver)

I just want to warn you that sometimes these people do not let up. If they come to your door, you don't have to let them in. NOT without a warrent...oh no, no, no. I would absolutely refuse to communicate with them again until the hearing.

Good Luck.

Thank you very much Kat,

The sad part now is that wife is on the board of directors for the Christian Health Center where this nurse practitioner[(the person who started all of this.) NOT DOCTOR] works. Well, we were just informed the she has been removed from the board because of this.

We have gotten her records and she states several times that she is concerned about brain tumors and such.

Is there an example of a letter I could send to HS for their records? I am not very good with words.

We have four children that want for nothing. They do not know what a butt wuppen is. We know what is best for our kids. The child in question has had heart surgery for goodness sakes. We are not going to let something happen to her.

From what I am finding on the internet, a parent has the right to refuse medical treatment for their children. It says that if it's life threatening, a court can step in NOT a 20 year old case worker!!!

Can I not also ask for the witches credentials???

Should I get a lawyer??? I can't afford a lawyer but we are so pissed right now, we can't see straight!

Thanks again for your time...
