I need help!!!

What is the name of your state? California

Hello,

I was convicted and now Im on probation. I have a restitution of $100,000. My question is I want to get married and PO tells me if I will they will go after my wife. Why? Any advice?

See if a prenup will give her protection

I had an attorney draft a prenup. I would presume this could also work in CA. My prenup specifically excludes me from any liability for any of my husband's premarital obligations (and especially his child support). I maintain my own checking and savings accounts and own my house WITHOUT him. WE live there together, of course. And if I die, it does into a trust and will not be owned by him. The trust is for my daughter and he is trustee, as her dad. Your fiancee should also keep her premarital assets segregated from yours and list them in the prenup. Check and see if a prenuptual agreement can provide the legal protection she needs.
