i need a lil help w / dateing problems

My BF is 18 and i am 17. Is it still legal for us to still be seeing each outher? The only gardian that dosnt approve is my step dad. my true father is decesed. Is there n-e way that i can still be w/ my bf w/o my fathers consent. There is no leagal documents that say that he is A legal gardian. Or does marrage do that for him. im vrey confused. I live in the state of CA
