Question

California

I was told that I wouldn't be able to regain custody after losing it 5 years ago.

I was on welfare, a stay at home mom, and was attempting to go to school, while living/ renting a room from a friend.

My ex has kept my child from me on several occasions, and has made threats against me, and telling my child he was going to have me killed. He doesn't care about our child, he just wants to get back at me for leaving him.

Now, I am working, I live with my new husband in a home we purchased, I completed school. I have always been there for my child whenever needed, going to school functions, and getting to know teachers and how my child is doing in school. I spend one on one time with my child. I give my child what is needed in every aspect, emotional, stability.

the ex has gotten worse, like he's competing with me, when I buy something so does he, when I had my tubes tied so did he, we bought our house, and now he's looking to buy a house withhis wife - what is up with that?

He's been threatening to take me back to court if I don't give him extra money on top of support, or pay for half of whatever it is he wants to buy our child. He's kept child from me, I don't even know where he's living right now! (We meet to d/o child) But I think he's living with a relative. I was told not to call the police, by a mediator.

there's mmmore to the story, but I need to know if I have a chance...

Will it affect the outcome if my child hasn't been able to establish friends here? (Child is 9)

Child says she want to live with me, but father refuses to listen and threatening that child will never see me again if I try to get custody.

Child is scared, and has had night mares.

I also need to know if taking a shower with child (girl)can be held against me?
