Wink

I want my name back now!!!

I'm hoping someone can advise me on this one....

I live in the state of Pa and am currently going through a no-fault divorce. Although we had been married for 8 years, I had never gotten my maiden name changed to my married name on my social security card. Therefore, I would presume that the state of Pa still recognizes me legally under my maiden name?

I'd like to go back to my maiden name and wonder if I have to go through any certain steps to do so, or can I "just do it"???
(The divorce is not yet final however....not sure if that makes a difference)

Can anybody tell me who I am!?!??!?!?!

When I had my no fault divorce in PA I just went to the social security office with my divorce papers and switched my name back. But if you never changed it then you should be good. Just make sure your driver's license and everything has the same name.

I know several people that has just put in the divorce decree so there would be no confusion on the things and places that does use your married name in changing it back. The divorce decree would be a legal document stating it. Rather be safe than sorry.
