HomeGuru !! Mi Amigo, Mi Compadre ! How good to hear from you again. Yes, it's been quite slow around these parts. Sometimes it speeds up, and sometimes you just can't get in for love or money.
I've been writing to Mary about this situation - - at least 3 times in as many days. Below is a re-print of my latest to her, along with her response.
Talk to you soon.
IAAL
Dear Mary:
Please forward this to the Webmaster. Here's my offer to him.
If he can hold his breath between clicks on the Family Law board and then clicks to, say, the Auto Accident board, and the Auto Accident board comes up completely, before he expires from lack of oxygen to his vital organs, I promise, and I swear on my mother's grave, that I will never, ever, complain about the slowness of the boards again.
Ask him if he'll take my offer.
Sincerely,
IAAL
MARY'S RESPONSE:
I already died about 4 hours ago when HomeGuru justificably was "on my case". Adios--
M
Mary is such a doll and a real sweetheart. It's really too bad that she can't walk up to the Webmaster and just knife him to death.

| | | Hahaha, I have not offered Mary the use of my whip and chains but then again I'd probably have to let her use the handcuffs, stilletos and leather underwear also.
Somewhere, somebody is not doing their job. Everything can not be blamed simply on
T-1 connections or software or doityourself website.
Soon I'll be threatening to call them and tell them to rename this website
doittoyourself.com or for a shorter url wescrewed.com
I also have been sending Mary email as you know.
Great to hear from you and maybe we need to ask the other contributors to do whatever.
Your friend,

I am sure there is something you could find to do. If not, well......use your imagination.
Well back to the slow boards. |

| | | | Damn, and I thought it was just me.... Went out and got a new computer and everything.. coulda saved that couple hundred for something else I guess... *S* Oh well needed a new one anyways, the monitor on my old one had these lines that wouldnt go away and the screen got smaller and smaller the longer I was up and running. Not to mention the freezing up... Heck I could go on forever about all the little kinks it had in it..

Hey, LB2 !
Good to see you back, finally ! It wasn't your monitor; we were all just getting "small", like Steve ****** says.
Yeah, we're all still here - - same crap, different day.
What kind of computer did you get ? How many megs of ram, how many mhz ? Hard disk size ? Monitor size ? Chest size ? (Whoops, that's not a computer part)
Anyway, good to see you back !

| | | IAAL, Grandma B and LB2,
I will be trading in my new $6000 laptop w/glare resistant monitor, and built-in CD-Rom, popcorn maker and bug zapper for an old IBM dino 286 so it's compatible with the speed of this website forum. |

IAAL | Hmmm, where to start...
*Smiling* first I should tell you what I WAS running off of..
a 686 motherboard with a 133mhz processor, two harddrives.. one was a 840meg, the second a 420meg.
I have went up to a:
14.2 GIG! (WooHooo) 686 motherboard, 36DD chest.. LOL.. couldnt resist
500sumthin mhz AMD processor
and a .. 13"monitor..
Ohh, still only have 64 megs of Ram, but I am going to be taking the 64megs I have in my other computer and putting them on this one if they are the same type. If not, I will take in this v90 modem to the computer store and exchange it for the Ram I need that will work.
LOL, my landlord works overseas and was back here last week and he was trying to use my computer (the old one) and got so mad he went out and found this one for me and said he would just add it to what I owe him.
He got an excellent deal, he got the CPU, Monitor, Mouse, Keyboard and mic for $300.00.
Good to be back, just wish that the server here wasnt so slow so I could reach my full potential..
Good to be back, speeding through the net..
Hey Guru, I want one of those popcorn makers on mine too... can you tell me how to do that? |

| | | LB2, sorry, there is no room for the popcorn maker on your computer on account of the 36DD hardware. Any motherboard that has a 36DD has some hardware. That's megabytes. |

Let's all calm down now. I think LB2 should be declared the winner. As for myself, I'll just pick my jaw up from dragging on the ground.
