We live in North Carolina. My boyfriend, Chuck, has a 17 year-old son who is completely out of control. Dropped out of school 2 years ago - no driver's licence (taken due to NC "school drop-out" law) Still drives - 3 tickets for excessive speed, no licence, etc. Deals dope. Makes threatening insinuations to father and paternal grandparents: 'Bet if the wheat field caught fire, it'd take the house out too...Cool' To father: 'have the boys take care of you." That is why Chick will not simply sell the car out from under him. These people are afraid of this boy, not physically (he's a skinny little guy) but of what havoc he will wreak upon them.
Chuck has been told by our county sheriff that the boy cannot be thrown out until the day after his 18th birthday - Sept 5th. A further complication: Boy's girlfriend whose was thrown out by her parents moved in for a few months - was supposed to help with rent. (No lease or anything - just a verbal agreement.) Not a red cent. Bills phone, power increased substantially. She moved out - didn't take furniture - now has moved back in. She is 18. The sheriff said that Chuck would have to go through eviction proceedings to get her out. One last caveat: she MAY be pregnant. We were told that there is a law that says a pregnant woman may NOT be evicted until after the baby is born. Is this true? HELP!!

Thanks very much for any help or advice!
