involuntary admission

What is the name of your state?PA
My wife and I involuntarily admitted her sister for health concerns. Her sister was admitted and her two children went to child healthservices and were placed temporarily in a foster home pending the treatment.
My wife's sister is so angry concerning our actions even though we have saved her life that she has blocked us from all communications with child health services and her doctors.
Is there any way to monitor her and her children so we can jump in and help. It is obvious my wife's sister's judgment is shaky and I would hope we don't have to get a lawyer to prove she is incompetent.
What is the easy way.

Until you do obtain a competentcy hearing and she IS found incompetent, she can tell you to gyrate on a banana.

Competent

She is smart and she can be convincing. How do we prove she is incompetent? I know she is because/ She weighs 65 pounds and takes vitamins instead of eating/her kids are overweight and have rashes/she tried to escape from the hospital, but will that be enough.
If we undertake this action and failed it will increase exponentially the rift between her and her family and might effect the disposition of the kids in case she doesn't survive.

Your questions can't be answered on an internet forum. They are best answered after a consultation with an attorney AND her attending physician.

You have 2 questions here, her competency and her fitness as a mother. In both cases you have now involved mandated reporters. Please understand, while her being underweight may be a sign of malnutrition, it could also be the sign of an eating disorder, medical condition, substance abuse or her natural constitution if she is very small. Same thing for the children, the fact that they are overweight at least shows that they are getting some nutrition, maybe not everything you think they should eat, if they were underweight it might be a different story. Same thing for rashes, many children have rashes for a number of reasons and there is no malnutrition or abuse. While the children may have been put into emergency fostercare when she was hospitalized, if they were released into her custody, someone made a decision.
