involuntary commitment

Hello everybody. I help people that are having problems with chemical dependency and currently am trying to assist someone in Nebraska. As a last resort, the person may need to be evaluated in a mental health facility if they will not voluntarily seek help. I know in my state, NC, that some (if not all) counties have regulations concerning involuntary commitment for those who due to substance abuse and/or a coinciding psychiatric condition, can be placed in the custody of the appropriate facility for an assessment. If anyone could advise me as to the laws in Nebraska or where to find accurate information in this regard, please let me know. Thank you for your time. What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
