Unhappy

just a question that has been bothering me

i am a 23 year old man. i have been dationg my girlfrien for about 5 months. i thought she was older n she thought i was younger. we found out about two months into our relationship that she is 16 n i am 23. her mom has a problem but her dad could give me chance if her mom would shut the hell up every once in awhile. we havent had sex or anything, we just really love each other. it was love at first sight for both of u sn we dont feel like we should stop jus bc of age. her mom is abusive mentally as well as verbally to her. i want to know is there any law sayin that her mom could keep her from moving out, not with me but ´with a relative. i know there are laws in north carolina about me not having sex with her due to age and really sex hasnt come up. we are always together with a group, either friends or in a public place. are there any laws sayin that i cant see here or date her and what are they and the extent of them?

Well, I'm not going to preach too much to you about the age difference even though I'm totally against it and think you're nuts.

For God's sake, whatever you do, don't have sex with her till she's 18 no matter what, provided things work out and you're still together. I don't know what the age of consent is here but I sure wouldn't chance it. Don't want to see you back here about statutory rape, child support, custody and visitation.

I don't know about her moving out. I don't believe it's possible though unless her parents grant her permission and go through the proper legal channels.

You may want to call the magistrate and just ask them if it's possible for a 16 year old to move out to a relatives and how they would do that legally, ect.

Also I'm giving you the link to the NC General Assembly. It has a search engine where you can put in key words and it will pull up different statutes.
