KS Law - How old must a child be to stay alone?

I may need to have my son ride the bus home from school and stay there before I get home. He would usually spend two hours alone each afternoon. He is 10 years old and understands the guidelines for being safe. My question is "what age does the law say he must be to be left alone for 2 hours a day?"

I don't have the time right now to respond thoroughly to this question again, so if you have a chance; do a search for posts regarding "home alone" and you will find a lot of responses.

My son was 9 when he stayed home alone as your child is doing now, he is now 11 and stays home at times all day. (when there are days with no school)

Also, where I live; (Iowa) Daycares stop taking children 12 and older.
