Legal age of child to choose

I have a step-daughter who is 17yr old. I am trying to find out what the legal age is for a child to have a choice in visitation that is ordered by a court for the non-custodial parent who lives in Alaska. We live in Kansas. It is really got myself and her confused. Thank you.
