If she is not a blood relative than why would it be illegal?

Perhaps it's not illegal, but I just think it's icky!

My response:

Oh, I don't know that it's icky. Hell, Franklin married Eleanor, and they were cousins.

Its not necessarily icky.

Think it through a moment. Lets say that a 50 year old woman and a 60 year old man get married...which turns their families into "steps". Lets say that he has a 40 year old son with a 20 year old daughter....and she has a 25 year old son. What would be "icky" about them getting married? They never even met each other until they were adults. Just because his mother and her grandfather happened to marry each other makes that "icky'?

Now...if they grew up together as relatives...then it might be icky

I guess I was going by the point of view that I have a step-nephew that is close to my age, and the thought of any romantic relationship makes me feel like puking. It just seems wrong to me. There are plenty of men in this world that I am not related to at all that I can date.

It would be "anonymous user's" sister's stepdaughter or brother's stepdaughter.

In my case, my step-nephew is my step-brother's son.

As long as they are not their own Grandpa.

I have 6 step nephews, I couldn't imagine being together with them, but I have known them all their life.

Maybe this poster has not known his SN like that.

Well she's only 5 years younger than me and her father married my sister last year, so i wouldn't think of it as "icky".

How old are you both?

There is a method to my madness folks.

In fact, you are so astonishingly correct in this matter, it will not surprise us one bit if you are offered a generous settlement, because, by golly, that’s just how it should be.
