Legal Name change for minor

What is the name of your state? Colorado

I am interested in changing my child's last name. His father is a fugitive from justice and am unable to locate him to obtain his consent. Is it possible for me to change my son's name without his consent?

in these circumstance, probably, but the ultimate decision will be up to the judge.

petition the court to change the child's name
