legal residence

YOUR STATE NAME -oklahoma// i am in the national guard in texas
and i was deployed to oklahoma for home land defence.i still have a home in texas,but while on this deployment i brought my
wife and son with me.because i broght my wife and son i am loosing over $400.00 a month because they claim i changed my legal residence.is this acurate or did they make a mistake and read the rules to legal residence wrong?
