| | | Legitimation of child born out of wedlock What is the name of your state (only U.S. law) OHIO
Hi All
I am looking for information on how I could go about legitimating my daughter born out of wedlock in London, England in 2005. This is to be able to transfer US citizenship to her (I'm a USC). She cannot derive citizenship unless she is legitimated by me before her 18th birthday. My name is on her birth certificate and she has my last name. Her mother and I subsequently married in Ohio in 2006.
Some states allow for legitimation after the subsequent marriage of the parents. I can't find anything that would show me the procedure for legitimation of a child in the state of Ohio. Does anyone have any idea what I may do to do this in Ohio? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? | |
