Length of time to be considered married by common-law in the state of Alabama

What is the name of your state? alabama

How long do two people have to live together in the state of Alabama before they are considered to be married by common law? I have heard six months and twenty-four hours. Could you clarify any other requirements that apply? Thank you.

A valid common law marriage exists in AL when there is capacity to enter into a marriage, present agreement or consent to be husband and wife, and consummation.
