What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

My girlfriend won't let me in her place to get my things out. She has my mail, a bunch of important papers, ie bank statements, title doc's etc..a load of tools in the garage, most all of my clothes, a new Bose docking station with ipod....lots of stuff.
Anyone know what I can do...quickly???
Thanks in advance...

Her place as in you never lived there? You should have taken your stuff when you broke up. If she won't let you get it now, all you can do is take her to court.

I lived there for almost a year. We argued one day, I left for what I thought would be time enough to cool down.Didn't think it was going to be a permanent deal but now she wants nothing to do with me and won't pony up with my stuff...she even told me she was going to get rid of it all. All the tools are there because I remodeled her Kitchen and bathroom...nice to be thanked for my sweat eh?

Why don't you have a key if you were living there? If she changed the locks on you illegally, then you can go to the police and ask to be escorted back into YOUR APARTMENT to get your things. Hope you have your name on the lease or one of the bills or something to prove you live there.

When did you leave?

After arguing on a daily basis I figured it was time for a break and told her so. She went balistic and asked for her house keys. I assumed I would leave for a few days and things would settle down and we could work things out but that didn't happen. This is going on a month now.
I do have mail going there in my name.

That was a poor choice (giving back the keys) and may work against you.

That's why I'm here...to figure out the best way to get my stuff back...especially my past taxes and titles on things. Called and no answer so maybe I need to camp out in the driveway and call the law when she does show up...???
