i was told that louisiana no longer allows emancipation of minors; however, I have been unable to find confirmation/information declaring the marriage of a minor automatically emancipates her/him.

my almost 17 year old stepdaughter is pregnant with the child of a 20 year old. instead of pressing charges for statuatory rape (or killing him) her father has agreed to give his consent for them to marry.

will either/both the marriage or the birth of the child make her legally responsible for her actions, bills, etc.?

any info would be greatly appreciated.
