marital statusWhat is the name of your state? texas i lived with a man in 1996 and assumed his last named as if we were common law married he was already legally married to someone else at the time and i used his name on a lease and at a job would i still be considered married to him and would i have to go through legal divorce proceedings i am wanting to get married now to someone else i have not seen, spoken, or heard from the man since 1997 nor do i know where he is located |

| thank you i tried to do a research on his marriage records how come it didn't show up i am going by what he told me as far as him being married but i want to make triple sure due to the engagement is there a way i can make double sure or does what online say make any difference |
