| Nope. Under Tennessee law, a person must be at least 16 years old before they can get a marriage license, and a marriage license is required for anyone to get married. TCA 36-3-105. For anyone less than 18, both parents or the guardian or next of kin must join in the application for a marriage license. TCA 36-3-106. If either party is less than 18, even if both parents sign the application, there will be a three day waiting period before the marriage license is issued. TCA 36-3-104. For more, you can contact your county clerks office. Oh, and guess what.... since she is under 18 years old, she is considered a minor under Tennessee law... and that WOULD mean statutory rape. However, that charge can't be made in this case, since you are not more then 4 years older then her. So, your age saved you on that one!! But, that doesn't mean that her parents have to like, or accept, you.
__________________ There are at least 17 lawsuits (!!) filed in various courts, including the US Supreme Court, asking if Obama is a natural born citizen (as req'd by Art II, Sec 1 of the US Constitution). Why has he spent over $1.7M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport! |
