marriage question

I'm in New York State---I'm an american citizen, I married a woman who is also an american citizen in the bahamas, we never went to an office some guy did it for us thru the hotel. we got a marriage license in the bahamas without really showing any identification. Are we legally married in the US

Sounds like you are married legally. Ask your local lawyer if there are any loop holes for you but legal marriage probably means you have to seek a real divorce now if you want out.

Why do you want out of it now?

The US recognizes all marriages that were legally done in any other country. Therefore, if you were legally married in the Bahamas, the US recognizes your marriage as being legal.
