Marriage without Visa

What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? New York city

I am planning on getting married in New York but I have over stayed my visa. I am moving back to europe so I am not planning on applying for visa here or staying here. Me and my husband both are moving to europe in 6 months.
The reason why we want to get married now is that my future husband needs to start applying for recidence permit ahead time for europe.

We are going to get married at city hall and I wanted to know if they will be checking for my visa? My fiancee has his visa so he is ok, but I am scared what is going to happen with me. When I am leaving the country do I need to tell that I got married here.

Thanks!!

Your immigration status is irrelevant for the purposes of marriage.

Does that mean that they wont even check my passport for anything else but for ID at City hall when I am applying for marriage licence. Will they ask me about my visa?

Thank you!

Since you are here illegally, they will most likely be happy to see you go and not try to stop you. You might not be allowed back into the US for several years though.

Question

Marriage without visa

Does City Hall does check your immigration status? Will they look in to my passport? Or do they only need that for ID?
Will anybody know that I am here without visa?
