California
Scenario: I am the father of 3 children with sole physical and legal custody. My ex wife pays child support, I pay alimony – it’s pretty much a wash. My ex wife is ordered to pay half of all medical, dental expenses. I provide the health insurance for the children which is supplied by my new wife’s employer in which the premium comes right out of her paycheck. The court order does not specify anything about health insurance costs – the box is not checked because I believe it is considered a medical expense for the children. My ex-wife argues that she is not responsible for the cost of medical insurance.
I would appreciate any legal advice on this issue.
Thanks
