Military Medical RecordsWhat is the name of your state? Georgia I couldn't find a specific forum for this question, so I'm sorry if I posted this in the wrong place. I am in the Navy, and stationed in Kings Bay, GA. My question is: Is it legal for aomeone at the medical clinic to disclose or give out any information from my medical record to my chief (without my consent or knowledge)? And then for the chief to threaten my military career, based on my medical condition (high blood pressure, and hip pain). I have been acused of lying about my medical condition, and told by the chief that there is nothing wrong with me (based on him going through my medical record, and talking with someone about it at medical). |

| You really need to direct this particular issue/question to the JAG office**************.they will be more readily able to discuss the specific regulations about disclosure/privacy in the military system....

| Thanks I posted here because I don't want my command finding out that I am seeking legal advice on this issue until I file my grievance against the chief, and medical (if what happend is in fact illegal). Thank you again for your reply. |

| That is easy to get around -- call the legal office at a different base than the one you are at and inquire as to a strictly "hypothetical" situation wherein the med office released info to a command without the AD members knowledge......
