What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Texas

My wife then..(now ex wife) mislead me into a cosigning a loan. Said it was to help pay bills. Found out about a week ago my mother had paid all the bills. But here lies the issue.... She was having an affair she intended to leave me for him the whole time..on 8/07 signed loan and 2 weeks later she left and filed for divorce. We have been divorced since 12/07 all this information has just come to light..I have a time line with all of the blogs and post and pictures and my mother's wonderful record keeping..My question is what can I do? I am still on this loan she doesn't really care about paying! She did mislead me with we need this to help with bills and the house and our 2 sons. Is this against the law? Some sort of intent or something?

The only thing I can suggest to you is to pay the loan off and then sue her in court. I wish I could offer more. Maybe someone else can come up with something.

i was thinking of the SOL. if the divorce was in 07, then the loan was approved before that. and all debt should have been handled in the divorce to begin with.

if he does sue her, he may be running out of time.

The lender is not going to care about the divorce. All they care about is getting the loan paid as agreed and hubby did sign. It looks to me like he is on the hook.

well, yes your right. but if the joint debt was addressed in the divorce like it should have been, he can hold ex in contempt for not paying her half.
