| Hello, I am in Eastern Canada and wish to move to the Upper Eastern part of the US for a job opportunity. There is nothing here in this area for work and I see many opportunities in the US for my child and myself. I do know people in the area I wish to move to and would be able to adjust us quickly. As well, my child is not yet in a school system, but will be in the fall of 2002. I am a custodial parent. I will offer non-custodial parent every entire summer, every Easter holiday, and every 2 out of 3 X-mass's for access. I am willing to waiver child-support. If that is not possible, then it can be used for transportation costs to allow this access to non-custodial parent. My questions: 1) Is this possible? 2) If I go to court for this, do I risk having custody transferred to the non-custodial parent? 3) If I am not able to go without being first established, if I do this for 6 months, then would I be able to return for my child? Thank you for any advice you may be able to give... 'new start' |

| We only deal with US Law on these boards.. but, two initial thoughts.. 1) If you give up every entire summer, you WILL regret it. 2) If you move and leave your child behind, do not expect to get them back when you return.

| What? To give up your child for the entire summer every single year?.. 2 out of 3 christmas and every Easter? No, I do not think it is a good idea to give up such a major chuck of time..
