Ok heres the think my cuz e-mails me and says she wants to Emancipate her self and com to missouri and live with eather me or my grandma. she is 16 both of her parents have been in jail and she says all they do is fight and yell she lives in Colorado. and she just wants to get out her parents wont let her have any contact with us the only way she talks to me is by talking to me when she is at school. well yah tell me what you think and get back to me

TO become emancipated, her parents would have to consent and she'd have to prove that she is capable of supporting herself completely - rent (without a roommate), food, utilities, transportation, medical care/insurance, clothing, etc.

And like, wow, the state of Colorado has these, like, real strict requirements. Like:
"Emancipated juvenile", means a juvenile over fifteen years of age and under eighteen years of age who has, with the real or apparent assent of the juvenile's parents, demonstrated independence from the juvenile's parents in matters of care, custody, and earnings. The term may include, but shall not be limited to, any such juvenile who has the sole responsibility for the juvenile's own support, who is married, or who is in the military."
