My husband won't let me use my van!

I have been married for 15 yrs. and have been a house wife and mother for the majority of the marriage (have not worked out of the home). A year ago I purchased a 1996 Ford Aerostar Van which was purchased in my name only, Although the insurance is in both my husband and my name. Now my husband's van stopped running and he refuses to let me use my van. He does construction work and is destroying my van. I have appointments and other arrons to run daily but he says I don't have any rights without working to have a vehicle. What can I do? I am presently seeing a psychologist because of the abuse and control issues but would like your advice on my rights to my vehicle! Thank You Very Much! and

Call the police. If the van is truely registered in your name only you can report it stolen or request an escort to pick it up.

Your registration or proof of ownership should be enough.

PS: If this is the way he is treating you absolutly do not worry about what will happen to him or he will keep doing what he wants.

I understand what you are going through i am no lawyer but my husband is doing the same my car is registered in my name and my husband usues it constatly if it is truely in your name then you can call the police and turn it in stolen as for counsling if he like my husband it may be hard to convince him to go
