my problem

What is the name of your state? Texas

Im 16, turning 17 in sept and I have home problems. My father and step mother drink and my step mom is abusive. My dad and step mom get into fists fights often.
SO, my real mother is meeting with her attorney to get a "power of attorney", so that i can move out and live with my boyfriend and his parents. Is it illegal to move away with the power of attorney and parent consent?
Also, my boyfriends mother is concerned because her son will turn 18 before me, we are 7months apart, is that illegal?

there is no "power of attorney" that will allow you to move out.

Does your father have legal custody of you?

The age of consent in Texas is 17. In other words, at age 17 you have the legal right to consent to sexual relations.
That doesn't in any way mean that you should or that your boyfriends mother has no reason to be concerned. He and they could still be charged with other things, such as contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Why is your mother not meeting with her attorney to attempt to gain custody of you?
