What is the name of your state? ga my grandson was born when the mother was still married to someone else. so he had to have her last name even though my son said he was his father. what does my son need to do to get the last name changed? the child was born 2-7-02 in ms. mammaw

Has your son done a paternity test to legally establish paternity? When he is in court to set up support and visitation after he is proven to be the father he can request to the judge that the child have his last name.

the father and mother have recently married. does that make a differance.will he still have to do a dna?
