Name Change - Special Considerations

I am in need of information regarding legal name changes in the state of Tennessee. The individual involved is a female-to-male transsexual and is beginning the transition process. This person already presents as male to the community and has had many difficulties arising from the legal female name.

All suggestions will be appreciated.

Merely file a Petition for a name change. Nothing special about doing this. It should be granted.

Need to know how ? There are some great books on this subject at your local bookstore. Pick one up and follow the directions carefully.

Thanks so very much, IIAL! For some reason we thought that it would be more complicated than that, given the circumstances of changing the name from one gender to another.
