NCP Visitation Question

For the state of New Jersey, If a NCP does not excerise his/her visitation rights, what is the time frame which a NCP can lose his/her rights for visitation?

Thank you,

Never, unless a court order is acquired stating otherwise.

Visitation is a legal right, not a legal responsibility.

If a parent chooses not to exercise that right, that doesn't mean the parent loses the right to see the child after a period of time passes.

Now if the parent doesn't see the child and ALSO doesn't financially support the child, then the child could be adopted by the spouse of the custodial parent, which would result in a loss of all the non-custodial bio parent's rights, including visitation.

That might be what you are thinking of.
