Unwed parents, one night stand at a party. Mom lives in Ohio, dad 180 miles in Michigan. Baby is 12 months old. Mother refuses to share
in the driving to make visitation with the father possible.Since the babies birth, mother has denied father visitation with the child in Michigan unless she comes with the baby. Both parents are 20 years old. both parents went to mediation in Ohio and mother refused to cooperate with any type of visitation unless it was at her home. They finally got a court date with the judge to decide visitation schedule next month. Any idea what the normal visitation for out of state dads entail. Only 180 miles but still difficult if mother refuses to meet half way. Mother agreed to every other weekend from 12:00 - 6:00 on Saturday and Sunday and insisted that visitation only take place in Ohio. I'm sure driving all the way to Ohio, sitting in a car for 6 hours playing, diaper changing, etc. is not in the best interest of the baby bonding. Then she thinks he will turn around and do it again on Sunday!! He can't afford the price of gas, tolls, hotel, child support, and be expected to do all the driving can he?? What happened to the safty net for dads getting every other weekend, one week during xmas and Easter, and half the summer, and the parents sharing in the driving?
