Ownership of vehicle

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Michigan

My daughter lived with a boyfriend for two years. Six months before he broke the engagement her car died. We gave her 1000 dollars towards a car and she paid for the rest from savings. They registered the car in his name because he was older and had cheaper insurance. When the relationship ended a year ago he refused to transfer the title to her name and let the registration and insurance lapse. She has been the sole driver of the car. She finally got him to register the car again 6 months ago so that she could get it insured. Yesterday he had the car towed and refuses to give it back to her or give us her money back. She needs the car for work and school. What are our legal options?

Want better for your children than you have for yourself. Don't commit your kids to someone for a lifetime that you don't want to commit YOURSELF to for the next 15 minutes.

In other words... if he/she is not suitable to be the potential parent to your children, don't sleep with them. Exercise some self control over your hormones.

I am not sure why it matters but she is 21 and the car is an 8 year old Buick.
