paternity

What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state?Michigan

I think my husband had a paternity test. The special prosecuting attorney called the house in regards to a woman and named her children. Hearsay has it that she is saying that her daughter is his. After the phone call, he became very quiet and two days later came home late from work. Unusual for him. If the SPA contacted him on a Monday, could he have been asked to take the test on that Wednesday? If so, when will he get the results?

Call me spineless, but I have suspected it since the phone call because inquiring mind wanted to know and was told by a mutual friend of a friend that she has been saying he is the father. I have yet to ask him. I am terrified of my reaction if it is so. We have been married for over 16 years and this child is under 10. It was a slap in the face.

I'd think knowing the truth would be better than what you're going through now. I would talk to him to find out what's going on - you're going to have to do so eventually.

It's entirely possible that a DNA test may have been scheduled in short order - the result would take a few weeks.

Stealth, I'm curious. Why would a special prosecuting attorney be ordering the paternity test or is that typical?

Not a clue - I'm not in MI.

The prosecuting attorney's office in MI handles paternity orders. At least that is what I have gathered from the MI Gov site on it. In my counties gov site the special prosecuting attorney's office lists the FAQ on paternity. But does not give any time on results. The child in question is a ward of the state at this time.

I still am staying away from asking him about the truth. Hearsay is one thing and reality is another. My mind says I can deal with the truth, but the cavewoman part wants to lash out.

Michigan. I asked him. He said no and that he was not asked to take the test. The woman named him and three other men. She was married at the time so the child is legally her husband's. The good thing: The child is being adopted with her two brothers by a very loving family. He contacted the SPA and had me talk to her. The woman is in serious trouble and signed off her parental rights to all of her children. The SPA said the woman made a specticle of herself and turned the courtroom into a circus. She even named a man that was deceased before she could of become prego.

Ty.
