Please I need Help.


What is the name of your state? Georgia

Can an 16-17 year old child move out "legally" from there parents home. If so please tell me. Thank you.

It would depend. You can describe here why you want the information, but since you have already indicated that this involves a minor (and since you didn't state your relation to the minor), I'm going to advise you to call your county's Dept of Social Services for help regards the legalities of it. Someone there will talk to you.

There is no relation to me and the child. I am just a friend that wants to help her get away from her bad mother and move in with me. She dont want to go to a foster home either though so I am trying to find a way I can get here to be allowed to move out of the current home and in with me.

I'm sorry to hear about this situation, and I can certainly understand her fears of foster care and her fears of legal problems otherwise if she "runs away" from home. If you think she is being abused physically and needs help immediatley or that she is going to be harmed and/or might run away from home and join the streets, it's going to have to be your call as to what you do. You can contact someone in the Dept. of Social Services, Family Services, and talk to them if you want to. I've provided some crisis hot line phone number and a web site that might help you.
